A laptop refresh frees up machines that are still perfectly usable: a four-year-old business notebook with a good battery, a MacBook that simply fell out of the replacement cycle. Left in a storeroom, they lose value every quarter, while their drives still hold the files, caches and saved sessions of the people who used them.

Which computers we buy
Everlink buys company computers of all brands: Windows laptops from the major business ranges, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, and other computers from your estate. Batches can mix generations, brands and conditions.

Configuration matters more for a laptop than for a phone, so include processor, memory and storage when your asset tool exports them. The offer becomes firm after physical inspection on arrival, and any difference is shown on the line concerned.
How the buyback works
- Send the list. Models, configurations if you have them, quantities and rough condition, by email, on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. An export from your asset management tool is ideal.
- Get a fast offer. An itemised valuation, with no commitment.
- Collection, erasure and payment. Packing and transport are arranged by Everlink, by on-site pickup or inbound logistics, in Switzerland and across Europe. Each machine is inspected, wiped and recorded by serial number. The final offer is then confirmed and the transfer goes out in Swiss francs or euros, with a Swiss QR invoice (the Swiss standard payment slip since October 2022).
If your refresh was prompted by Windows 10, which reached the end of support on 14 October 2025, the machines you retire are still hardware with a resale value. Describe them as they are and let the valuation decide.
Preparing laptops before collection
You can hand machines over as they are: Everlink handles resets and erasure. A laptop, however, stays tied to your organisation in ways a factory reinstall does not undo, and only your administrators hold the rights to release it.
Windows devices in Autopilot and Intune. Microsoft recommends deleting the device from Intune first, then deregistering it from Windows Autopilot whenever it permanently leaves the organisation, and warns that removing records out of order can leave orphaned records or unrecoverable devices. Microsoft's Intune wipe documentation also suggests removing the device record from Microsoft Entra ID so it no longer appears in your tenant.
BitLocker. For Entra-joined or domain-joined machines, Microsoft recommends storing BitLocker recovery passwords in Microsoft Entra ID or Active Directory. The same page notes that Windows RE asks for the recovery key when a "Remove everything" reset is started on a device protected with a TPM and PIN. Keep those keys accessible until the batch has been processed; do not delete the device records first and look for the keys afterwards.
Mac in Apple Business. For a recent Mac (Apple silicon or T2 Security Chip, macOS Monterey or later), Apple's pre-sale checklist points to Erase All Content and Settings. For company-owned Macs, Activation Lock can be organisation-linked and turned off in Apple Business. Do this before you release the Mac from Apple Business: Apple says the release cannot be undone and Activation Lock can no longer be managed there afterwards.

Data erasure and traceability
A laptop drive holds more than a phone: local folders nobody synced, mail archives, exported client files. Every machine taken back by Everlink is wiped in compliance with the GDPR and the Swiss revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP, also written nFADP). For readers abroad: this Swiss law requires data security appropriate to the risk (Article 8(1)) and the destruction or anonymisation of personal data once it is no longer needed (Article 6(4)).
What you receive:

- An inventory by serial number, ready to reconcile with your fixed asset register and your Intune or Apple Business records.

Removing drives before the sale is not necessary, and a laptop without its drive is generally worth less on the refurbished market.

Do you buy MacBooks as well as Windows laptops?

Our laptops are encrypted with BitLocker or FileVault. Is that a problem?
No. Mention it in your description and keep the recovery information accessible. Erasure and administrative unlocking are organised with your IT team.
Do laptops that no longer boot have any value?
Yes. Faulty or broken machines are accepted in the same batch and valued for parts.
Do we need to deregister from Autopilot before collection?
Deregistration is something only your tenant administrator can do, and Microsoft recommends it for any device leaving the organisation permanently. It can be coordinated with Everlink by serial number, before or around the collection.
