Tablets tend to live outside the main IT inventory. Some sit in meeting rooms to book the space, others were bought for a trade fair, a sales team or a pilot project that ended two years ago. When they are retired, nobody is quite sure who owns them, which Apple Account they are signed into or whether they are still supervised.
In short: to sell business tablets, send Everlink the models and quantities you have, even as a rough list. You quickly receive an itemised offer, collection is organised for you, every tablet is wiped in compliance with the GDPR and the Swiss data protection act, and you are paid with a full inventory, an erasure certificate and a Swiss QR invoice. Cracked or dead tablets go in the same batch and are valued for parts.
Which tablets we buy
Everlink buys company tablets of all brands: iPad in every range (iPad, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad Pro), Samsung Galaxy Tab and other Android or Windows tablets. Wi-Fi and cellular models are both accepted, and they can go in the same batch as your phones or laptops.
| Condition on arrival | What happens |
|---|---|
| Working, clean screen and casing | Valued model by model at refurbished market level, based on storage and battery health |
| Working, worn from shared use | Accepted; wear is reflected in the grade of each line |
| Cracked glass or damaged charging port | Accepted, valued with the repair taken into account |
| Does not power on | Accepted and valued for parts |
| Still supervised, in kiosk mode or locked to an account | Accepted; the release is coordinated with your IT team before the value is confirmed |
The initial offer is based on your description. It becomes firm after physical inspection on arrival, and any difference is shown line by line.
How the buyback works
- Describe your tablets. Models, storage, Wi-Fi or cellular, quantities and rough condition, by email, on WhatsApp or through the form on this page. If you only know "about forty iPads, various generations", that is enough to start.
- Receive a fast offer. An itemised valuation, with no commitment.
- Collection, erasure and payment. Packing and transport are arranged by Everlink, from one office or several, in Switzerland and across Europe. Each tablet is tested, wiped and recorded by serial number, or by IMEI for cellular models. Once the batch has been checked, the final offer is confirmed and the transfer goes out in Swiss francs or euros, with a Swiss QR invoice (the standard Swiss payment slip since October 2022).
Tablets freed up by an end of lease can follow the same route if they are yours to sell. Our article on end-of-lease mobile devices explains what to check with the lessor first.
Preparing tablets before collection
No preparation is required on your side: tablets can be handed over as they are, and Everlink handles resets and erasure. What matters is the locks only your company can release. Shared and kiosk tablets are often more tightly managed than phones, so this step deserves a quick look.
iPad. Apple's checklist for selling or trading in an iPhone or iPad asks the user to sign out of iCloud and the App Store, then use Erase All Content and Settings, which also turns off Find My and Activation Lock. For cellular iPads with an eSIM, Apple advises erasing the eSIM profile too.
Supervised iPads in Apple Business. On company-owned iPads, Activation Lock can be organisation-linked, and a user with the right privileges in Apple Business can turn it off for devices the organisation owns. If an employee switched on Find My with a personal Apple Account, Apple explains that the lock is user-linked and your device management service may hold a bypass code. Turn off Activation Lock before you release the devices from Apple Business: Apple warns that the release cannot be undone and that managing Activation Lock there is no longer possible afterwards.
Android tablets. Google's factory reset protection asks for the screen lock or the Google Account password after a reset, and without it Google says "you won't be able to use the device at all". Removing the Google Account first avoids a locked tablet. If you wipe through Intune, Microsoft notes that on corporate-owned Android Enterprise devices eSIMs are kept by default unless you choose to remove them, and that the admin wipe does not preserve FRP data by default.
A list of serial numbers shared between your administrator and Everlink is enough to coordinate this remotely.
Data erasure and traceability
Every tablet taken back is wiped in compliance with the GDPR and the Swiss revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP, also written nFADP). For readers abroad: this Swiss law, in force since September 2023, requires personal data to be destroyed or anonymised once it is no longer needed (Article 6(4)), much as the GDPR does in the EU.
Shared tablets are easy to underestimate. A meeting-room iPad may hold calendar data; a field tablet may hold signed delivery notes or customer photos. What you receive:
- An erasure certificate per batch, issued to your company.
- An inventory by serial number, with the IMEI for cellular models.
- Tracking of each unit from buyback to resale.
That pairing of certificate and inventory is what your data protection officer will ask for. More detail in our guide to certified data erasure for mobile fleets.
Why Everlink
Tablets, phones, laptops and watches in one batch. Tablets are rarely retired alone. Everlink also buys business smartphones, computers and smartwatches, so the whole lot leaves with one collection and one set of documents.
Nothing to set up. No portal, no MDM connector, no labelling of individual parcels. You deal with one contact by email or WhatsApp.
Re-equip from the same partner. Everlink also supplies tested refurbished tablets, smartphones and computers with warranty included, so the replacement can come from the same contact without a telecom contract attached.
Frequently asked questions
Do you buy iPads that are still supervised in Apple Business?
Yes. Hand them over as they are. Turning off Activation Lock and releasing the devices is coordinated with your administrator, since only your organisation holds those rights.
Are older iPad generations worth selling?
Usually yes, as long as there is demand on the refurbished market or value in the parts. Send the model list and you promptly receive an itemised offer, with no commitment.
Do you take cellular iPads and tablets with eSIM?
Yes. They are recorded by IMEI as well as serial number. The data plan itself is a matter between you and your operator, so check with them whether the subscription needs cancelling.
Can we include tablets from several offices?
Yes. Collections cover Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Benelux and beyond, with settlement in Swiss francs or euros.
Should we remove cases and keyboards first?
It is not required. If cases or keyboards are in the boxes, simply say so in your description so everyone knows what to expect at collection. For a wider view of mixed batches, see our corporate device buyback guide.
